I think there are a lot of reforms needed in the education system.

I think you'll do well in the education field. I like seeing someone who is enthusiastic about teaching. That makes a huge difference.zellakatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13466934007546605691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-75743030202868161052011-01-19T16:28:45.549-06:002011-01-19T16:28:45.549-06:00That makes me feel so much better. :)

And I do think that students who obviously like/love/are-good-at a subject should be held to higher standards than those who struggle but overall, the class should not be easy. Students do not learn when a class is easy. I could talk about that subject for a very long time.

It is most definitely an insult to a student when a teacher feels the subject needs to be downgraded for them.

I think that the American school system just needs an overhaul. I personally volunteer myself to help with this.

I just hope I don't lose my idealism. Many people tell me I will, but they do not know me. So their opinion is invalid and I refuse to believe them. :)@__anastasiamariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13350277314424909683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-84815111054781785852011-01-18T12:15:19.926-06:002011-01-18T12:15:19.926-06:00Hehe Don't feel bad. I have a list, yep, a written list, of all the things that I like that my teachers do and all the things that I dislike that they do.

Yes, I dislike teachers who are too easy. To me, it is insulting, especially when the class is in my major. I don't mind having some classes easier than others--otherwise, I would lose my mind :D--but I hate when the work is insultingly easy. I always see that as a teacher who is either lazy or unfamiliar with the age/maturity level of their students.zellakatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13466934007546605691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-48064846617870041692011-01-10T13:46:51.412-06:002011-01-10T13:46:51.412-06:00Thanks! I have a tendency to look at my teachers now and critique them so I now what not to do when I become a teacher.

Ugh. My school is full of mediocre teachers. Do you want to know what annoys me the most? I'll tell you anway.

It annoys me so much when teachers complain about students. Seriously? You chose to be a teacher and dealing with students is part of the job. It would be part of the job regardless of what grade level you teach, even college, so just get over it.

I also hate when teachers are too lenient. I have been told by several people that I will be a "scary" teacher.

But I love my subject, and I want to make other's love it as much as I do, so I know that I will be a good, albiet hard, teacher. But that's what students need, someone to push them to thier highest ablility and not make excuses.

Sorry about the long comment. I have some pretty strong feelings about the subject. :D@__anastasiamariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13350277314424909683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-40956697750989875502011-01-08T14:54:50.560-06:002011-01-08T14:54:50.560-06:00Yep!

I think both you and she will do well at it! :)zellakatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13466934007546605691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-81580472843974442542011-01-06T22:08:27.775-06:002011-01-06T22:08:27.775-06:00Your major is probably the most important thing to...Your major is probably the most important thing to look for. :) I am going to a school that is well-known (in my state at least) for their education program. Which is good, since I want to be an English teacher. :)@__anastasiamariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13350277314424909683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-35722083987567660892011-01-05T21:54:54.895-06:002011-01-05T21:54:54.895-06:00@SweetTart_Girl: I enjoy it, but it's not for ...@SweetTart_Girl: I enjoy it, but it's not for everyone. The school I go to is very strict--dress code, zero-tolerance alcohol policy--but that's okay with me because the things that are against the rules are not things I do. But some people do dislike those restrictions. Most of the people I am in school with are pretty nice kids. I do think I got a better general education at the public community college just because I had to take more science, math, English, and elective classes than if I had been here just because of the required religion classes here. But the English and history programs here are great, so that's what matters to me. :D

@Sky: Tis possible but not fun. Fortunately, it's not a problem anymore because we do have fun! :Dzellakatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13466934007546605691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-53060870312113369672011-01-05T21:10:23.918-06:002011-01-05T21:10:23.918-06:00Really? Well, at least you're going to have a lot more fun next semester, right? :Dskys417https://www.blogger.com/profile/13879046190501185841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-81888802213590405472011-01-04T18:27:24.741-06:002011-01-04T18:27:24.741-06:00Do you like going to a private Christian school? I decided to go to a state school instead.

Your welcome! :D It's something I want to do someday. But I need to work on my skills. I read some essays that my teacher gave a C on but that I would not have accepted because they were so grandiloquent and such. I can't wait to hear how it goes though. :)@__anastasiamariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13350277314424909683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-2610464181161499982011-01-04T17:54:27.722-06:002011-01-04T17:54:27.722-06:00Yeah, I was relieved, too. I hope you get a good roommate! :)

I am going to a private Presbyterian school, so I have to take a Bible Survery class. I wouldn't have to take it if I had taken Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey at my old college, but silly me only took one of them . . . :P

That's a great blog post idea! I shall do that after this semester! Thanks! :Dzellakatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13466934007546605691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947315095649206987.post-83937642964439289432011-01-03T16:51:03.348-06:002011-01-03T16:51:03.348-06:00I'm glad you found a roommate that you will ge...I'm glad you found a roommate that you will get along with. I am hoping that the roommate I end up with next year will like me. I may be rooming with my brother's girlfriend who is also my friend but that's not official yet.

Wow, 5 English classes. Sounds like a hard working heaven. :) I can't wait to only take English classes in college. What is your other gen ed class?

You should also blog about the essays that you will be reviewing in the Writing Center. Like what the common mistakes are and such.
That'd be really cool. :)@__anastasiamariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13350277314424909683noreply@blogger.com
